We now have 3 buildings for rent. The Cozy Camping Cottage, the Camping Cabin and the newest addition is our A-frame which is the most secluded spot on the land. - Voted best Hipcamp in Indiana to visit for 6 years. - Listed on Rachael Ray Magazine's "8 of America's Coolest Campgrounds" We offer a "Camping Cabin", The "Cozy Camping Cottage" or tent camping in Black Walnut Grove, in an open field, in the woods, or a shady grove. We like to interact with people or you can keep to yourself and have a quiet getaway in the woods. Sorry, but the tree house isn't available to rent since it is my home. I may rent it out in the future. Also in progress is the "Dome" We are on a solar powered, off the grid 30 acre homestead that has 24 acres of wooded land and 6 acres of groomed land. Come explore our land and relax in the "Tree Web", see the 2 story tree house that I live in, have fun on the tire swing, or just sit and enjoy all that nature has to offer. You can explore our interesting topography that has close to 100 foot of elevation changes, our (mostly) dry creek system that starts with 2 springs that drain into 3 sinkholes or walk 3 miles of trails (if you follow each trail from end to end). We love groups - Host your event here or have a group gathering with all your friends and family. We have spaces large enough to host hundreds of people. We welcome pets for camping, but no pets allow in the Camping Cabin. Also be aware that we have 2 friendly dogs on the land that roam freely. - 3.5 miles to Marengo Cave - 7 miles to the Blue River (canoes, rafting and swimming) - 30 minutes to Patoka Lake - 37 miles west of Louisville - 13 miles north of Interstate 64

Cozy Camping Cottage
Absolutely beautiful and peaceful place to stay. We were greeted by not only Kerry but 3 friendly dogs when we first pulled up. It's a wonderful getaway out of all the hustle and bustle (but they also have wifi that works great if you need it)! The outhouse was clean and had running water. We didn't use the shower but they had one available that looked clean as well. We loved our time here and Kerry was a perfect host!

Black Walnut Grove at Happy Hollow
Convenient & "easy" for families!
My husband and 8yo twins met two other families (each with 2 children) and as a group of 12, we all had our first HipCamp experience on Black Walnut Grove! Kerry was very responsive, patient, and answered all my pre-arrival questions. He was thoughtful about which site would best suit our needs and it turned out to be a great spot. The kids loved playing in the (mostly) dry creek bed and the big, muddy ditch – and of course, they loved the string "nest"! We felt comfortable wandering the grounds and loved meeting the neighbor and his pigs & chickens. While there, Kerry was available to answer questions, deliver dry wood, and he jumped at the opportunity to pull our truck & camper out of that same mud. Although he was on site, he never hovered and didn't even hush us during some intense rounds of 'capture the flag.' The handmade latrine & sink were convenient and an improvement from toilets you'd find at most public (more primitive) campgrounds. (I even washed the kids up in the shower at another site – something I didn't plan to do but took advantage of because we could!) re: the dogs - Jersey, Bart, and Maynard were regulars at our site and we enjoyed their company. They were friendly, never aggressive, and did well with our very lazy, not-territorial older dog. So we did not have any issues on that front but made sure to keep our food sealed up. Kerry's place was great and I'd recommend it to other families looking for a an alt to a traditional "car camping" experience!

Black Walnut Grove at Happy Hollow
A total delight!
Kerry was a wonderful host with beautiful land. He generously shared his knowledge of the trees and selected a spot on the property that perfectly met our unique needs. He speaks with each guest upon arrival and discerns the best space for optimum enjoyment. (Not to mention he offers firewood brought to you!) Private and peaceful! We could not have enjoyed our stay more! Will for sure visit again! Ps He also offers syrup he taps from the property’s trees! And we found the yummiest breakfast spot called Rooster’s Hen House just minutes away!

Cozy Camping Cottage
Best getaway.
Perfect place to get away from home life. Beautiful outdoor private shower, cozy camping cottage to nap in… dog friendly with some playful beauties running around. Kerry is very welcoming and helpful, loves to chat so it feels petty good to fit in. He is very knowledgeable. Love the place every time we go. Right around the corner from Marengo caves and Patoka lake that has a nice beach to swim and kayak! We love the tree net and you will too! I recommend grabbing the guitar and playing some tunes up in the trees.
