Camp alongside the Arkansas River in Bighorn Sheep Canyon. April-November. We accommodate Tents, Vans, smaller Class C motor homes or Camping Trailers under 30 feet. Multiple newer campers and tents can be provided based on your camping or glamping needs. Restrooms and showers are easily accessible. We also have camping by a pond with easy access to the river. We offer Fly Fishing on our 1,000 feet of riverfront property. (no lures, treble hook, or "bait" of any kind.) Catch and Release on property grounds. Colorado Fishing licenses are required for anyone over the age of 16. No fishing is allowed on the small pond on the property. Fly fishing lessons, and guided fishing on the property are available. Guided tours for fishing the Arkansas River from a raft, white water rafting, horseback riding, or a zipline adventure can be arranged in the Canyon Adventure awaits a short 18 mile drive up the Canyon in the Arkansas River Valley. (Salida to Leadville) Home to the highest mountain peaks in Colorado. 102 Miles of Gold Medal Water for trout fishing. There are at least 5 hot springs within 60 miles of Twin Bridges Campground. Salida is considered the white-water rafting capitol of the USA by some and has a whitewater park and surfing wave. Salida area is also home to a ton of hiking and mountain biking trails. The Royal Gorge is a quick 30 minute drive. The Sand Dunes are 90 minutes and Monarch Ski Area is 45.

Cooper's Hawk, river and stars

The site was nice with the river right there, however, not much protection from the sun. We had 3 little dogs with us and there was no where to take them on the property for a decent walk. One of the dogs got burrs in his fur from surrounding bushes. This is my fault for not researching more. The site was very pleasant with the rushing water right there, it was a nice sound to sleep to. And the bird watching and listening was very pleasant. If you are a fisherman or don’t plan on staying at the site all day, then I imagine it can serve your purpose. The outhouse bathroom was pristine, always had plenty of TP and hand sanitizer. Didn’t get a chance to check out the shower house.

Hummingbird: river and creek site

Great family weekend

Peaceful spot right on the river with a creek on the other side! Nice clean port o potty steps away. Bath house with flush toilets and hot showers up the hill. Great location near royal gorge and Salida. Patricia was kind enough to let us plug in our crock pot in the office as there is no power or water at the site but available at office.

I loved car camping here! It was a close drive to Salida, beautiful space, and clean bathrooms and showers close by. Patricia was super friendly and directions were clear.
