WindTree is an awesome retreat perched high on top of the Santa Cruz Mountains in California, over looking the entire Monterey Bay and Santa Clara Valley. WindTree is sacred land used by many over the past 30 years for retreat and ceremony. It has also been a working "Wwoof" -ing farm for volunteers from all over the world to come and learn about organic gardening in a fun, beautiful, nurturing community restoring our sense of interrelatedness and encouraging planetary sustainability by our choices and concerns for the wellness of the environment. You can make your experience apart of this community or enjoy a quiet private camp site away from any activities. We are off the grid with solar power and our own well. We have small organic gardens with chickens and goats. You will love it up here under the stars. Note: RV's over 21 feet will have difficulties on our driveway.

Vista

Incredible View!

Vista is a great spot with lots of privacy, space and incredible views! The road in & the directions aren't great. It is a bumpy road in as many other reviews stated. I would recommend getting there in the day time to navigate your way in. Firewood is available at the site which is always a nice touch.

Medicine Wheel

Magical stay at Medicine Wheel!

We loved camping at medicine wheel! The stars were incredible up there. We especially enjoyed all the breathtaking views across Elena’s property and loved spending time with the chickens and very friendly goats. Another great aspect of our visit was chatting with and joining the WWOOFing crew for dinner. My partner and I connected with many incredible people and critters during our stay and we could not recommend more! All this being said, be wary of the road coming up the mountain and arrive before dark if possible. I was worried our car would not make it and it worked out. Even with the road and it’s many potholes, we are so grateful for our stay!

Cob Cottage

This hip camp was so peaceful! The Cob Cottage was cozy and magical. It was pretty chilly at night, so bring layers and maybe an extra blanket. I loved exploring the property and meeting one of the owner's cats.

Sunrise

Had a great time. Our son really enjoyed being outdoors and making a fire and we got to sleep inside instead of in a tent.

Cob Cottage

Cute cob cottage and friendly hosts! Nice views. However, the overall property has a strange feel. Getting to WindTree was very stressful as we were chased down the dirt road by two dogs. I was also bitten by a tick while sleeping.

Hobbit

Great getaway

I loved the Hobbit cabin. It had everything I needed with amazing views. The property is very cool.
