Eagle's Nest Treehouse Farmstay
Incredible place
Our stay at the Eagle’s Nest Treehouse on Salmon Creek Ranch was nothing short of magical. The seclusion of the treehouse tucked away in this little private forest was the exact thing we needed for our weekend getaway. Despite the cold nights outside, the bed was incredibly cozy and kept us warm all night. Then waking up to the birds chirping in the trees all around was a truly beautiful way to start the day. The place was clean (no outside shoes inside the treehouse), stocked with basic necessities (towels, toilet paper, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, etc.), and nicely decorated. There was a heater that could warm up the place pretty quickly, and electricity available. There was potable water available in the bathroom. However, I would recommend bringing some jugs of water with you if you plan to use the fire pit below the treehouse to help put out the fire. We hiked a bit along the creek which was beautiful and got to see the farm with the goats, ducks, and adorable highland cows. Overall it was a 10/10 experience and I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone needing a beautiful escape from everday life!

Creekside Camp #2
Lovely site near the creek
The campsite was well set up with a picnic table, fire ring and portable toilet not far away. It was fairly secluded with trees separating the site from the others. The creek that runs nearby is accessible via a short walk and the kids enjoyed throwing rocks in the water although it was too cold to really get in but I could see it being appealing in the summer months. John was very communicative and friendly although the directions were a bit hard to follow and my dad got lost getting to the site (but eventually found it).

Creekside Camp #3
Love this spot!
This is our 2nd time in campsite #3 and we just love it. Having the private deck right by the creek is so relaxing and we want to come back in the summer to wade in the creek. The Porta potty is kept clean and the site has plenty of room for 2 cars and 2 tents with a fire ring and picnic table.

Redwood Camp #2
Magical redwood grove campsite
This is my second year in a row camping at this property and it’s just stunning. The need for an AWD is real, and you’ll have to be pretty self sufficient since there are no services on site (one single porta potty available for all redwood sites). All sites and nestled into the forest, private, and quiet. Beautiful grassy meadow connecting them in the middle. Miles of gorgeous, green trails. And so much wildlife! We’ve seen all kinds of birds, including owls, from up close. We’ve also seen foxes, lots of banana slugs and rough skinned newts. Heard coyotes at night. Trails are not marked, but easy enough to navigate. Bodega bay is a short drive away so we went there for coffee and breakfast one day. The hosts are responsive and good communicators. Their livestock is fun to watch, and the mercantile is a must see, too! We’re definitely coming back next year, and making it an official spring time tradition!

What it’s like to be an owl
A lovely place. Perched among two massive Douglas Fir trees, it feels as if your an owl hid inside a tree. The room is made of wood slabs, artfully pieced together to give the sense of being part of the tree. The recent rains made for a swollen brook tumbling down the sides of the broad valley—lovely music to the ear. John and Lesley are happy hosts. Much to recommend this place as a place to unplug.
