Jug Handle Creek Farm and Nature Center is a nonprofit with a five minute walk to Jug Handle State Reserve, Jug Handle beach and the Ecological Staircase trail. We offer 11 unique campsites with plenty of space and privacy. Each site has two picnic tables, a fire ring, parking for two cars and plenty of space for your tents. We also offer three lovely cabins, which have power and access to a shared kitchen and bathroom with a hot shower. Our 33 acres include a native plant nursery, community gardens, forests, meadows, and nature trails. Our site has lots of nature trails, is peaceful and beautiful and just a 5-minute walk to Jug Handle Beach and the Jug Handle Preserve. Our Mission: We offer a welcoming and supportive environment for people of all backgrounds to explore nature and connect with the natural word. Nature stewardship is central to our non-profit mission and as an organization we are engaged in many nature restoration projects throughout Mendocino County. We also provide a supportive learning environment for nature education for disadvantaged youth during the school year. If you teach k-12 and would like to bring your classroom to Jug Handle contact us about special rates and our immersive nature education programs.

#2 - Sunny Spot in Meadow
This was a great place really close to the beach. There was a walking trail right to a small beach from the campsite. They also had shareable outside kitchens with running water and the portable toilets were clean.

Overfull portapotties, Construction
I wish we had known about the current construction from the website before we booked. When we arrived just after 5pm, construction was happening in the next site over. Construction continued until 7:45pm. Apparently bathrooms are being installed, which will be a huge improvement over the over-full porta potties currently available for campers. There is no hand sanitizer or hand washing station at the porta potties. It's a nice campground and will be a much nicer overall experience with bathrooms. We reached out to the campground hosts via the Hipcamp messaging system as that was apparently the only what to contact someone. I got a response to my first message, but not response to my second message days after sending it. Again, it's a nice campground which will be much improved with better facilities. However, there should have been information about current construction on the website so we could have been better informed before our arrival. We were charged too much for the experience we had of construction late into the evening and over-full porta potties.

#10 - Sunny Spot
This was a nice sunny a private spot right near some hiking trails which led us to a beach and some nice views. This place is a working farm but we weren't interrupted by any noise. The directions were very clear, we had no problem finding it. Would stay here again if in the area

#6 - Nice Big Spot
The site was nice and clean, near porta potties and water spigot. It looks like they’re doing some construction directly across from this site so the view isn’t that great but besides that, awesome site and quiet and tranquil at night.

Explore Mendocino and the coast
Fabulous location just a trail to the beach. They are doing some renovations at the campsite so the view across from site 6 currently is less gorgeous but will have even better amenities shortly when they finish. I’d come here regardless of construction. The port-a-potties were clean and actually smell good. Never experienced that before! Delightful visit to Mendocino and the outdoor hot tubs then dinner under the stars at Luna. This was a wonderful campervan vacation. Will definitely do this again!

Great Campaign Site
I loved car camping on Sarah's land! The views were beautiful and directions were clear. There was another site nearby but it wasn't too loud. The available fire wood was perfect. The site was clean and quiet. We loved it and will definitely comeback!
