My farm had been untouched for years and only used as hay farming. It is rolling hills known by the locals as "Butterfly Hill" Which the farm is home to many species of butterflies in the summer. I know the area was inhabited by native Americans many decades ago. I have found a few broken arrow heads over the years. The farm is beautiful and quiet.The cabin is set on a 28 acre hay farm beside a beautiful creek. The campsite has a fire pit, charcoal grill, and queen bed with sheets and comforter. You also have your own private privy located a short distance from the cabin. Plumbed showers will be available in the future but not at present time. I do have a solar bag shower available for you to use at camp if you want. The Love Shack is in a wooded area that can be explored or just enjoy the relaxation of a quiet farm. The Love Shack is very private and secluded. There is hiking,tubing, paddling, and brewery's just a short drive. Rockingham and Stokes county has a lot of fun activities to offer as does the small town of Madison, NC. The Madison Dry Goods store is featured on the Netflix show "28 days haunted". It's worth checking out.Hanging rock state park is about 30 minutes away and Mayo River state park is 15 minutes away.There are 4 rivers in my county that you can kayak and tube. I offer a propane heater for winter. Bring your own fuel for the heater. It's the green small tanks 🙂 You can have wood at the site for an extra charge or you can forage for down wood in the area. Feel free to pick up and burn any wood that's not being used for the camp. Please no cigarette smoking in cabin. If you can't come without your kids there is plenty of room for a tent. Mystic Meadow Love Shack

Get away to a GREAT GETAWAY! If you are looking for a peaceful, quiet, nature-filled, solitude oasis…then the Love Shack is your destination. Tucked away in the forest on private land, Wendy has created a space for guests to disappear from the busy world and enter a space of tranquility. Nestled beside a creek you can start a fire, listen to the rubbing water and look up at the trees that provide the most perfect shade. I’m not one for naps, but I felt so relaxed upon arriving that I took a nap on the bed (which is super comfortable) with the A-frame open and it was amazing. We also ordered a dozen eggs from Wendy’s chickens and they were delicious- definitely worth a try. It was truly a perfect weekend and a wonderful way to unwind and appreciate the art of doing nothing.

A truly magical place! It was a pleasure for me and my 6yr old daughter to stay and enjoy the solitude and nature! Wendy is an excellent host and let us know there are some great amenities being added to continually increase her gusts comfort!

Beautiful, peaceful site. Wendy was the most thoughtful and courteous host. We loved hiking around the property, and our dog loved frolicking in the creek. Cabin and outhouse were clean and comfortable.

Mystic Meadow Love Shack

We loved the Love Shack! Perfect for a quick getaway with our pups. We had light rain off and on all weekend, but the shelter was warm and dry. The trees helped a lot to cover the porch and fire pit, so we still had a campfire each day.

Mystic Meadow Love Shack

Gorgeous, serene little cabin. The wall opening up was such a cool feature. The mattress is very comfortable. The outhouse does not smell. My favorite part was the swing by the creek.
