The farm you’re camping on is one of the last family farms remaining in Columbia County and is named Glenn Farm after DV Glenn who married Hettie Lou Niblack in the 1930’s. Over the last 150 years it has been farmed by some of the county’s oldest families such as the Niblack and Ellis families. When DV Glenn came to Florida from his farm in Cairo, GA he took over the portion of the Niblack farm that was inherited by his wife Hettie Lou. At that time he was running native Florida cattle on over 6000 acres. Unfortunately, In 1951 he was killed in a hunting accident leaving his wife with the farm and 4 children (ages 4-11). In order to survive, Hettie Lou Niblack Glenn was forced to sell 5000 acres at $25 an acre. Holding a bachelors degree from Florida State College for Women, she was able to secure a job at the University of Florida as a secretary and with the money from the land sale she was able to raise her four children. Of the original farm, 600 acres remain intact and the Glenn family is trying to keep the farm as an agricultural operation. Your campsite is 1 of three spots (Arrowhead Sink, Dunagan’s Meadow or Magnolia Sink). Dunagan’s meadow is a pasture behind the old farmhouse (built in 1844), Magnolia sink is also on the main farm while Arrowhead Sink is on the edge of a hayfield about a mile down a dirt road. Glenn Farm is a place to come relax and experience a world that is rapidly disappearing. It is not a commercial campground.

Arrowhead Sink
Private Oasis
Glenn Farm - we stayed at The Sink - was exactly what we were looking for when we planned our trip to northern Florida. We needed somewhere quiet, dark, remote, and safe. That's exactly what we found. The directions could not have been clearer, the communication better, or the host more welcoming. It was seamless and no stress. What a blessing for weary travelers! When Tom found out our plans included a busy spring nearby, he recommended a still-busy-but-less-so spring and told us the best places to visit. We even got a special tour of his farm looking at all the animals from sheep to a miniature Angus bull (I'm a city dweller so don't quote me on the breed). The land has been in his family for generations and he couldn't be more proud of it and willing to share it's history and lore, if you're interested. Tom is the consummate host willing to go above and beyond to make sure that your stay is the best possible. This was one of our favorite places we stayed and we'll definitely be back even if we have to tweak our agenda to fit availability on his land!

I had the best weekend I could wish! This place is a little treasure: private, quite and at the same time it's safe. You'll be surrounded by nature sounds, free from the disturbances of other people or civilization noise. Tom and his mom are extremely hospitable, making the stay even more enjoyable.

Dunagan’s Meadow
A True Gem of a Camping Spot!
What a wonderful experience! The property is beautiful, the amenities are perfect, the animals were so much fun, and Tom was such a gracious host. The location is near several swimming spots, a dollar store is close by for any forgotten essentials, and the scenery was so peaceful. I definitely want to come back and try some of the other camping sites on his property. Tom was so kind to show us around his family’s property and we can’t wait to visit again! I have already sent some friends the link so that they can experience this hidden gem as well.

Arrowhead Sink
Coolest sinkhole around
Seriously, such a gem! Tom's family has some amazing land and it's such a treat for them to open it up for Hipcampers to enjoy the marvelous sinkhole on their property. Photos don't do it justice, you just have to go and experience it yourself. Would totally reccommend bringing something to float on down there. It's spectacular!

Peaceful Stay Near the Springs
Beautiful property! Convenient location to all of the springs. We loved waking up to see deer in the field in the mornings. Would book again.

Tom was SO hospitable, welcoming and accommodating. Staying on his beautiful land was exactly what I had hoped it would be. I loved feeling secluded. It was close to the springs we had come to visit. The kids didn't want to go. Five out of five stars.
