Indulge in the charm of a custom-built tiny house nestled against a grove of Aspens. This 100% solar-powered and self-sustaining cabin is situated on 2 acres, accessible via a scenic 13-mile drive on dirt roads off Hwy 24.
Since we are 100% OFF GRID we do not have a well. I bring 3-4 (5) gallon jugs of water and dump them in the tank under the sink when I stay. It's very easy and is plenty water when used conservatively. This water will run the kitchen and bathroom sink as well as the shower. The shower itself uses 1.75 gallons per minute. If you use the shower, make it quick!
There may be some water in the tank when you arrive (in the summer) but we recommend bringing a couple of 5 gallon jugs to put under the sink.
Kids over 10 accepted with caution. There is a propane heater on the wall as well as a ladder to the loft.
There are two lofts. One has a queen bed and the other has two twin mattresses made of foam that fold in to chairs. Bring sleeping bags if you plan on sleeping in the loft!
The kitchen table is flat against the wall and folds down when needed. Turn and pull out the lever on top release the table. This place is brand new and we are still working things out. There is a stool under the stairs and the box in the corner was designed to be used as a seat/ottoman.
Lay out a blanket on the brand new Huge deck and bring binoculars or use our telescope (available in the summer only and located in the shed) and stargaze!
Lots of things to do including hiking, paddle boarding, fishing in the summer at 11 Mile Reservoir. Go snow shoeing, rent a Polaris in Woodland Park, and snow mobiling in Buena Vista. Eleven Mile Reservoir is just a few minutes away by car.
Detailed arrival and departure instructions will be sent to you via email a few days before your stay on how to use the unique systems in the cabin.
Note: during the months of November through May, the cabin is dry with no running water.
Looking to host a retreat? Contact Raemi for details. It’s like camping, but with a bunch of amenities like a refrigerator, a full stove and oven, lights and heat. We do not have a well. Bring some 5 gallon jugs to fill under the sink. There may be water in the tank under the kitchen sink but you will need to bring your own if you want to be able to take a shower. You are responsible for your own water supply. The shower puts out 1.75 gallons per minute.
This fun Tiny House is luxury camping. Bring sheets or sleeping bags and water. We have dishes and basic cooking supplies for you.
If you use three twin mattresses in the loft for sleeping purposes you need to bring sleeping bags as there are no sheets on them. Kids OVER 10 allowed with caution. There is a steep ladder to the loft and a propane heater on the wall with an open flame.
The house is self sustaining using solar panels to bring electricity to the house including a hot water heater. But remember, we don’t have a well.
Upstairs is a comfy queen bed with an electric fireplace. The lounge loft has 2 separate narrow twin mattresses, a TV a record player and a guitar. Don’t forget sleeping bags! We do supply a few extra blankets in the cabin.
There is a heater in the main area that runs off propane. It heats the entire house quickly. Or, you can make a fire in the wood burning stove but do so at your own risk. The flu is metal and runs straight up to the ceiling next to the staircase banister. It will get piping hot. Use caution and don’t touch it. 😬
In summer months, it gets to be about 75° in the house. There are two air-conditioning units. One in each loft.
*NOTE The cabin is dry beginning November through mid May and will not have running water.
If you’re into stars and planets like us, you can use the telescope and take amazing pictures with your phone! It feels like you’re in a planetarium. Please take extra care. If anything happens to the telescope or its parts, it’s on you!
Relax under the aspens at the propane fire pit on the porch while you disconnect and stop thinking about work 🤗 Open fires are not allowed at this time because there is no fire pit. Coming summer of 2024.
Bring your favorite vinyl LPs or play one on the many vintage records and games we have in the lounge loft. Bluetooth speaker available for your own music.
Wi-Fi is available and there is a TV in both lofts.
