The Confluence campsite is situated on 21 acres between the north and south forks of Mills River. This serene campsite borders native trout water and an an additional 45 private acres that have been passed down in the Brittain family since the 1790s. The upper meadow provides canoe, kayak and fishing access to South Mills River as well as shaded private mountain trails. This very private campground is a five minute drive from Pisgah National Forest and 10 minutes from the Asheville Airport and the Sierra Nevada Brewing company.

Lower Meadow #2
Great area for camping!
The space was private and quiet. The site isn’t right on the river but it was a short walk to get there. (And probably better not to be super close because of the flooding risk). The kids (age 4 and 22 months) had fun fishing and splashing in the water. And catching fish (well one fish). Bathrooms were convenient. Site was clean and well taken care. It is a great space for groups because of how much space the site has to set up tents. The booking process was really easy through the app and the instructions to the site were easy to follow. The area is also a lot of fun. We stopped at Sierra Nevada on our way into town for lunch. The site is conveniently to a grocery store (less than ten minutes away). We also went to AMB for lunch and had a good time there. During our visit we also checked out the Elijah Gem Mine and the kids loved the mining, the goats, and the chickens. The Pisgah National Forest is a short drive and we drove up there for a hike and to check our Looking Glass Falls. There are a ton of other breweries in the area but we stuck to what was kid friendly.

Upper meadow #1
A group of us stayed at the upper meadow section of Phil’s property. As always we enjoy the private secluded spot. This time when we went we had the entire property to ourselves I guess no one wanted to brave the rain. We all enjoyed the sounds of rain and frogs at night. We will be making this a go to spot for our future group camp nights. Don’t look any further at any other campsites book with Phil. The land never disappoints!

The Forks #4
The forks
First corner lot coming into the field on left, 2 wire fence separates you from mills river. Short walk in the river to the fork where it meets north mills river, saw numerous large trout although I wasn’t skilled or lucky enough to catch one. Beautiful property saw a lot of wildlife including a groundhog living right by the fork in rivers. Had a picnic table and campfire on site, and had portapotti and 2 outhouses closer to the other campsites.

Meadow #3
Fantastic large open site
Phil's land is lovely! Large open and very considerately set up. Phil was very kind and flexible with us arriving and leaving a bit late. There are other campsites in view, but not close enough hear anything from them jnless they are being particularly loud. At night you are serenaded by frogs and other river critters.

Beautiful Mountain Hideaway
I loved the stay at Upper Meadow. Upper Meadow is at the end of the lot, so there is a bit more privacy compared to the other sites which you drive past to get there. The deck on the mountainside gives a great view and setup and a lot of the little touches like solar lamps, covered picnic tables and benches around the fire pit really make this site easy to setup. I also enjoyed the quick trip down to the river where I was able to catch some large trout for lunch.
