Located on the John Muir Historic route to Yosemite National Park, Yosemite Westlake Campground and RV Park is convenient to all things Yosemite. Between here and the park is Rainbow Pool, a well-known swimming hole that campers here often visit on their way back to the campground for a refreshing dip in the cool waters. Coulterville was started as a gold-rush town. You can visit the museum and visitor center even try your hand at panning for gold.

Yosemite Westlake Tent Site #2
Perfect Campsite
The site doesn't look like much, but the campsite had everything you could ever want and more. This is the first campsite I've been to with hot showers (!!) and a pretty great bathroom all things considered. The large stainless steel sink makes doing dishes a breeze and each site has its own fire pit (as well as a propane grill if you dont have your own). There aren't designated "spots" to camp in but there are places throughout the property that are flat and near fire pits that might as well have a site number on them. All in all, although there are many amenities, you still feel like you're roughing it out in the woods, and with the cheap price per night, it's the perfect place to stay if you're visiting Yosemite.

Yosemite Westlake RV Site #11
Overall, it's a decent spot. Rv spots are very closely spaced. Hookups work fine but the water is cloudy..... We opted to drink bottled instead. No, it's not just "small bubbles" it's got a brown tint. The entrance sign MUST be moved. We helped multiple others who drove in the same way we did find the actual check in office. The signs you see make you think the 2nd entrance is the way. There is a sign hanging pointing to the owners home when entering from the misleading entrance. With almost no cell reception (verizon) we found ourselves very confused. We were able to get through luckily and John was a HUGE help! Nice work John!

Yosemite Westlake Tent Site #9
We had a great experience camping on Mac's land. Check in was easy, facilities were clean and well kept, the site was close to Yosemite National Park so our drive was pretty easy. We'll be back!

Yosemite Westlake RV Site #12
Overall we had a good experience, but it seemed unorganized on a busy holiday weekend. It is definitely first-come-first serve and it appeared that it may have been overbooked. For example, tents were in the RV spot next to us and in the "picnic area". There's not enough signage as no one knew which way the roads went and RVers didn't know which way the "pull through" went so people would park in any direction, until maybe someone from management finally showed up and told them to face the other way and use different utilities. It would be a very nice spot when you know which site to get (but first come first serve) and wasn't crowded. Showers were hot during the day before everyone comes back from Yosemite.
