Site 5 The Otter Watch Pond
We stayed at the Otter Pond. The owners had been working to drain off a large bit of flooded forest, and the site is a tad washed out due to that. FWD sedan got through the dirt roads just fine. Plenty of space to setup a 10 person tent. Pond is very lively, exactly as described with frogs, toads, crickets, turtles, and birds. Heavy gnats, but likely just due to the recent rain. Hosts are extremely welcoming, gives heavy southern hospitality vibes. Land is beautiful, great views from the top. Host delivered firewood, only paid for what I used. Host provided full water jugs on request. Can hear 93 from the sites, but far enough off to not be a bother. Exceptionally clean sites, well kept. Phenomenally friendly hosts!

Site 11 Jesse James Hide out
Awesome spot. Tent camped at Jesse James Hideout, site #11. Great fire pit, quiet, hosts were super friendly and welcoming. Brought us a huge jug of water and delivered firewood no problem. Watch out for ticks, we went in late May and two of us got one tick each on is but we caught them early and was no big deal. 11/10 would stay again. New favourite camping spot for highland bike park.

Site 10 Sunset Hill
Great spot close to Highland Mountain Bike Park. The site 10 was perfect for us. The host delivered wood before we arrived and there was plenty of it for the night. It’s close to the highway so expect some noise, but for us it didn’t really matter since we slept in the car.
Will definitely come back !! Thank you

Hospitable hosts-lack of privacy.
Overall, this host/grounds were lovely but we still had situations we wish had been different. While we don’t personally plan to go back, it is a beautiful property with many positives and others would love it.
The great: port-a-johns were scattered throughout the property and were THE BEST I’ve seen anywhere. Firewood was a great deal and dropped off directly at the site after we checked in.
The mixed: upon arrival hosts weren’t home and we checked in with someone not listed on the site. She was friendly and helpful, but some may think it’s a safety concern. Also upon arrival, we were told the site we had booked had flooded and were directed to a different site. We got stuck in the mud (2WD) and were able to get ourselves out but it wasn’t a great start and made us uneasy. At this point we were directed to the site we ended up staying at- it was big, clean, had a picnic table and fire pit. However, it was 150 yards from the house and barn in direct line of site. Hosts rode horses within 30 yards of our dogs and also popped in once to say hello which was kind but we were going for more privacy. Two people rode dirt bikes through the site (they asked). A vehicle was backfiring down the highway and the woman who checked us in came running accusing us of setting off fireworks at first but we quickly explained then she was apologetic. We were looking for a little more serenity but we also had a good time and can see the pluses to staying here.
