This was a custom log home built in the early 2000's. It has been updated over the years to make it more livable year round. This site is on a seasonal road so travel in and out can be impeded at times due to weather or external forces, such as tree falls, wash outs, etc. This is a self sufficient homestead in the making. Our garden has progressed greatly, and our fruit tree orchards are in just starting to produce. We just opened our second site, the Prairieview Chalet to our already great, Acorn Retreat cabin. Which includes a hot tub and other amenities, including a heated in the winter bouchee outhouse. The new Prairieview Chalet is an exceptional adventurers haven! It has all the things you want after a day(s) out in the wilderness, with amenities like a hot shower, fully stocked kitchen, linens and more. Our property reflects our love of the land and space. We are always making improvements, such as the timber framed chicken coop. We now have a ping pong table for our guests, and still over farm fresh eggs. We strive to make every place better than we found it and hope our guests will do the same. This is a zen, quiet place to heal, reflect and refill your cup of life:)

Prairieview Chalet

A dreamy getaway

Hello! We are the builders of the Prairieview Chalet tiny house, hosted by April. We recently test drove a night at the tiny house in its beautiful current site. We are so excited that it has found a new home in the woods, and that we can share this labor of love with others! Just a few years old, the Prairieview Chalet tiny house was built and lived in less than a mile away from its current site. Prairieview Chalet

Hidden gem!

Our stay at Prairieview Chalet was wonderful! April, our host, welcomed us warmly and gave us a quick tour of the property. Her kindness extended even beyond our stay, as she sent us home with succulent clippings - a lovely gesture that added a personal touch to our experience. The tiny house itself was beautifully constructed, cozy, clean, and well equipped with all the necessities, including a full kitchen and a comfortable hot shower. The toilet was clean and had clear instructions. We enjoyed the beautiful views and outcroppings surrounding the chalet as we ate dinner at the outside table. Its convenient location made it easy to access town while still feeling secluded. We highly recommend Prairieview Chalet to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway.

This place is,Magical!! It's close by to all the best hiking spots & the best part yet is if you don't want to travel out, there's enough beauty to explore and appreciate RIGHT at your site!! Jasper & moose their dogs are the BEST!! The roosters and chickens are super fun to see!! I could go on and on about this place. We stayed at Acorn Retreat but was able to see the other site they offer and let me just say, it's ADORABLE with magical views that will have you going back home all refreshed. Book it now, April is amazing and we'll absolutely be back!!

Acorn Retreat

Cabin Currates a Cozy Comfy Climate

April is such a wonderful host, and the acorn retreat was the perfect Lil cozy cabin for a winter retreat, especially with the hot tub. Also can hike up hogback mountain directly from the property which was amazing even covered in snow. If you want a warm cozy retreat in the UP look no further. I will certainly be back!

Acorn Retreat

We had a wonderful time at Acorn Retreat! The written instructions made it very easy to get to, even in the midst of a snow storm at night! This truly feels like a home away from home. The cabin is cozy and welcoming. It was heated well, and April was kind enough to put a heater in the outhouse for us. We also got the chance to explore the trails on hogback mountain, even with the foot of snow that fell over the two nights we were there! We hopped in the hot tub with a complimentary cup of hot cocoa when we returned! Overall, I would highly recommend Acorn Retreat!
