Site 2 - Black River Camping Ventures
Great time together in nature!
I would highly recommend the campground, the area and Lisa’s hospitality. Our campsite was immaculate, spacious and equipped with everything you need to enjoy your stay! The firepit and picnic table were close to the water for a great view of the Black River! The river is accessible for kayaking, fishing, paddle boarding, etc. The site had beautiful trees, moss, natural foliage and clear/flat/shaded space for pitching tents. The trash can was extremely helpful for waste and the Port-a-John’s were immaculate. Lisa was extremely friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable about the land. Her communication is prompt and she is available if you need anything. The family atmosphere and cleanliness of the entire property made our experience most enjoyable! 10 out of 10. We look forward to returning!

Site 11 - Black River Camping Ventures
Overall we had a great experience. The camp host was extremely welcoming and friendly. The portajohn was the cleanest I had ever seen and even smelled good…which seems impossible! The sites are absolutely beautiful right along the river and it feels very peaceful.
Our kids had sooo much fun fishing and swimming and playing on the sandy beach. It will be a time to remember for sure. It is an open layout so we could see them from our campsites and it felt safe and quiet.
I’d recommend coming maybe earlier in the spring or maybe in the fall to avoid the mosquitoes. I sprayed a TON of lemon eucalyptus bug spray on as soon as I arrived and repeated every few hours while awake and I did fine. However, my husband and daughter had the worst bites I’ve ever seen. They bit my husband through his shirt. They used bug spray…but not as liberally as I did.
Also, please note that the the water from the pump is quite dirty. So…maybe it should only be used for putting out the fire? It is noted as non-potable in the site, so I should have prepared better. But, I’ve never stayed at a campground this expensive before that didn’t have a clean water source to use for hand washing, dishes, etc. I guess I incorrectly assumed it would be cleaner and thought I could just add sanitizing tablets…but it was brownish and contained debris. Adding a good water source would make this a stellar campground.

Absolutely awesome campground! Very clean and quiet. There was easy access to the river, which was perfect for fishing and paddle boarding!
