Camp Rio, formerly named Camp @ Cloudcroft is located in beautiful SE New Mexico! The park is surrounded by thousands of acres of the Lincoln National Forest. The forest is laced with small villages, picturesque roads, riding, hiking, golf, and walking trails. Small valleys, surrounding mountains, racing streams, wildlife, birds, mountain glens and outdoor activities are available to Camp Rio guests. The small towns around us are Mayhill, Cloudcroft, Weed, and Pinion. These towns have scheduled activities such as arts and craft fairs, car shows, bluegrass festivals, dog shows, and Lumberjack days. Additional day trips to Alamogordo, Capitan (Smokey the Bear), Carlsbad, Las Cruces, Lincoln (Billy the Kid), Ruidoso (skiing), Sunspot (National Solar Observatory, Truth or Consequences (Hot Springs) and White Sands National Monument! Guests enjoy our upgraded free wifi to have the best of both worlds, surrounded by beautiful nature, while still being able to connect with family/friends/work. Our location is superb to use as a base camp for numerous attractions as a centralized location to have many adventures.

Camp Rio Tent Sites
The camp hosts and staff are incredibly nice and welcoming. The little river and surrounding area is beautiful. There was a food truck, the bathrooms were clean and i enjoyed the hot showers. Would ask for a tent campsite near the river next time, as this seems to be the nicest spot for tent camping, other spots are either close to the road or quite exposed. But that is just personal preference. Would camp there again! Thanks Camp Rio!!!

This was the cutest little camper. Steps away from the river that runs through the campgrounds. Super pet friendly, clean and the other guests and host were very polite. The night sky was amazing!

Sweet Spot
I tent camped at spot 5 riverside and it was absolutely beautiful. The river is crystal clear and had a family of ducks parading around. There’s enough space between the big trees to see the stars. All 5 riverside camp spots are side by side but we had the place to ourselves. We also lucked out on being there Saturday night where Jim was playing his guitar and singing the pavilion from 7-9pm on the pavillion. It was perfect

Camp Rio Bell Tent
Great Experience at Camp Rio
Camp Rio is a fun blend of tent camping, RV sites, and creative glamping options, nestled into the foothills of the Lincoln National Forest. The property is clean and well-maintained, with plenty of trees and a small stream running through. Camp owners are on-site, friendly, responsive, and we loved the family vibe and dinner at the food truck. We stayed at the Bell Tent, which allowed us to have an outdoor camping experience without needing to drag along our own tent and bags on our road trip. Comfy beds and electric inside the tent, fire pit, food prep areas and wash station outside the tent were all nice touches. Wifi at the main camp pavilion was an added bonus. Bathrooms were nice, clean but there was sometimes a line.

My wife and I tent camped for one night on our way to a family vacation. My only regret is that we could not have stayed longer. It’s a beautiful spot, along with a very helpful staff. The facilities are very nice for a campground setting. We hope to go back soon.
